Eidetic Technologies was born from the shared journey of two surgeons whose paths converged far from the traditional centers of innovation — in Honduras, where both David Romero Funes MD and David A. Gutiérrez MD discovered their passion for surgery, science, and human performance.
Their pursuit of excellence led them to the Cleveland Clinic, where they began as volunteer visiting researchers, working late hours in pursuit of discovery. What started as a shared commitment to understand surgical complexity evolved into a decade-long collaboration that bridged science, technology, and the art of surgery.
Over the past ten years, they have published more than one hundred abstracts, peer-reviewed papers, and book chapters in the most respected surgical journals in the world. Their work has earned national recognition, including awards from leading surgical societies for innovation and research excellence.
Both founders were recognized by the U.S. for extraordinary ability in the field of surgical science, for significant contributions to their field at an international level. They have dedicated over a decade to advancing the future of surgery.
Their shared experience, from the challenges of surgical training to the triumphs of discovery became the foundation for Eidetic Technologies.
